The Purpose
I believe teaching is a very honorable act. We all teach each other at certain times, but people who teach the young generations full time have a strong impact on the future of our country.
According to the American Federation of Teachers, the average salary in the 2003-2004 school year was $46,597. Starting teachers can expect to earn around $30,000 per year on average. This figure is low, especially with student loans and a family to support. If I was in charge of this country, I would certainly urge the legislators to pass new laws for higher teaching salaries. Unfortunately I'm not, but we can help ease the financial burden of future teachers in the form of scholarships.

Ideal Candidates
As tuition and college expenses continue to rise, we feel it is in our best interest to help the most deserving students. This brings us many tough decisions in deciding who is the most "deserving".
Our ideal candidate is someone who sticks out amongst the crowd of applicants. After reading your essay and credentials, we want to know you're the winner without any doubts. Here's a hint - the best way to do this is to write in your own unique style and with total honesty.
